FAQ

Before you ask us,
we probably answered it

The questions that come up on nearly every first call. If yours is not here, the phone is quicker than reading further.

Getting started

Is there a free trial?

No — the price you see is what you pay from the first month, and there is no contract tying you in. If you would rather see it working before you commit, call us and we will walk you through a live system.

How long does setting up take?

An afternoon for a normal shop. Your business, your first counter and your login are created together; after that it is loading your products, which we help with. Shops that already have a product list in a spreadsheet are usually billing the same day.

Do I need to install anything?

Not at the counter. It runs in a browser. Any reasonably modern computer at the counter will do, and a USB barcode scanner behaves like a keyboard, so there is no driver to fight with. If you choose to run it on your own server instead of our cloud, we install that for you.

Can you import my existing product list?

Yes, from a CSV. Name, code, price and tax rate are the columns that matter; anything else you have is a bonus. We will look at your file before you do anything to it.

Hardware

Will it work with my barcode scanner?

Almost certainly. Any scanner that types the code and sends Enter works — that covers practically every USB scanner sold in India.

What about my printer?

Receipts print to a normal 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer. A4 tax invoices print to any printer you already have. Nothing needs a special driver from us.

What about items I sell loose, by weight?

Supported. Weigh, print the label from your scale, and scanning it puts the right weight and price on the bill. You can also key a decimal quantity by hand.

Does it need a fast internet connection?

On our cloud, a normal broadband or 4G connection is plenty — the billing screen sends very little per bill, but the connection must stay up during trading hours. If it often does not where you are, run it on a PC in your own shop instead: the tills then bill over the shop’s own network, internet or not. Compare the two.

Running the shop

Can I have more than one counter?

Yes. Each counter is its own till with its own cash drawer and its own shift. How many you may open at once is part of your plan.

Can I have more than one shop?

Yes, on a plan that includes it. One catalogue, separate stock per branch, transfers between them, and staff who only see their own store.

Can I stop a cashier giving big discounts?

Yes. Each role has a maximum discount, and the server enforces it on every line. A till cannot give away more than you allowed, whatever is typed into it.

Can I see what my staff did?

Yes. Cancelled bills, price overrides, stock adjustments and sign-ins are all recorded with the name and the time.

Data and money

Is my data separate from other shops?

Completely. Every record carries the id of the business that owns it, and the system refuses to write one without it. Staff from another shop cannot see your data even with a valid login.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, whenever you like — not only if you leave. Your catalogue, customers, suppliers, stock ledger and full sales history download as CSV files any spreadsheet opens.

What happens if I stop paying?

Billing stops; nothing else does. You can still sign in, read every bill, run every report and export your data. Nothing is deleted, and one phone call switches it back on.

Can I use my own web address?

If you want to. Most shops never bother — the address we give you works perfectly well. If you do want your own, it is a couple of DNS records and a button.
